Mazarin – Demos
”Mazarin” is one of the most important records of my career. It was the first time I worked really close with Christoffer Lundquist and I hadn’t done a Swedish album in 18 years before I started writing ”Maz”. I love all these demos. They made me feel strong.

It was the beginning of a new era for me, being without Roxette, and I guess that’s why it took such a long time to get the Mazarin-project going properly. It was the first time I recorded at the Aerosol Grey Machine with Christoffer Lundquist and Clarence Öfwerman producing. It turned out be a wonderful place for me.

Fragments from a song
It can be really difficult for me to explain what I like about a certain song of mine. I make the demo and try to make sense but then when we have another go in the studio other people’s opinions might interfere with my favourite parts and sounds. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s a nightmare.

This means that I don’t really do “advanced” demo-recordings anymore. Nowadays they’re so much simpler. The real production comes in much later. I’ve learned a lot from Clarence and Christoffer. They’ve taught me to trust my own songs, believe in my music and nowadays I’m always truly convinced we’re gonna make magic together. I used to worry a lot in the past.
